My Story

My story is a reminder that hope can exist in the darkest of places. Growing up in the Turbhe red light area, my parents knew that they couldn't provide me with a safe and nurturing environment for me to grow up in. With my mother still in the trade, they feared for my education and upbringing. That's when they reached out to the Sahaara staff for help. 

On 23rd May 2022, I joined the hostel, and at first, I was distant and uninvolved. But with the support of the staff and other girls in the hostel, I slowly began to open up. I developed new habits of sharing, obeying the staff, and being helpful to others. I attend a local English medium school with enthusiasm and dedication. I excel in my studies, enjoys playing indoor games, and have even discovered a passion for dance. 

My story is a testament to the transformative power of a safe and nurturing environment, and to the potential of every child to thrive if given the right support and opportunities.
