I was born in a red-light area. I am the eldest of 3 children. My mother works in the red-light area and my father worked as a dishwasher in a local hotel.
My mother was rarely home due to the nature of her job and my father was an alcoholic, so neither of them were watching over my siblings and I very much.
My father died because of his drinking at a young age. My siblings and I were often wandered the neighborhood fending for ourselves. Social workers of Sahaara noticed me and let me attend an education center.
Because of my unsafe environment and my mother being unable to give me proper care and protection, my mother requested for a safe place for me to live. Therefore, I was admitted into the Girls’ Hostel where I now feel safe and am hopeful to have a bright future.
